Elementary

Dear Fayston Families,

As the Principal of Fayston Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome new and returning families to the Fayston community life. I am thrilled to have students make wonderful memories in our classrooms. Our staff eagerly awaits to witness their laughter, energy, and enthusiasm for learning.
I’m honored to serve as the Principal of Fayston Elementary School and I am thankful to be a part of a community where students, teachers, and parents care for each other and strive to build meaningful relationships that support academic, social-emotional and spiritual growth.

Our Core Values also lie at the heart of our holistic approach to education – in our planned curriculum, school life and other places of work. Fayston’s Core Values help our learners become not just great students, but servant leaders who serve the world and God.

As well as achieving academic progress, your child will develop into responsible global citizens, guided by the Fayston’s value of kindness, empathy, helpfulness, compassion and respect for others.

We will keep making every effort to create an environment where children enjoy learning, flourish and reach their potential.

Educationally yours,
Principal, Jeong.Kelly

Co-Curriculum / Intensive Language Course (ILC)

For Beginner English Language Learners

Fayston prepartory Elementary offers an Intensive Language Course(ILC) for students that need extra Ianguage support. However, the goal of the ILC is to have the students fully integrate into the regular English-only classes, which are operated in a total immersion setting, within one or two semesters. Placement needs will be determined during the entrance/placement process.

Goals & Objectives

The goal of the intensive language course is to help beginner English learners develop the language skills necessary
to be successful students and members of the global society. The following objectives help reinforce this goal :

  • - To nurture self-esteem in each student's linguistic and cultural heritage.
  • - To develop proficiency in the English language in all domains of reading writing, speaking, and listening.
  • - To reach a level of proficiency in all content areas.
  • - By allowing interacting with non-ILC students throughout the day, including, but not limited to specialty classes and club activities.

How Our ILC Centers Work

Our ILC takes place either in a homeroom-based or a dual management settings.

  • - ILC homerooms will create a safe environment that reduces shame and allow our full-time ILC instructors to supervise and manage the full learning experience for each student.
  • - In a dual management setting, ILC students may be pulled out for their grade classes to join target groups to focus on building their linguistic skills during the school day. However, distinguished classes not exceed 6 periods to ensure the students' integration to their grade class.
  • - These systems are thoughtfully designed to provide customized and concentrated language support in an intimate and consistent setting for beginner ELL students in grades 2-5.

Special Programs

What is PBIS ?

School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is a systematic approach in teaching behavioral expectations throughout the school.
It is based on a proactive model to establish a healthy framework for creating and sustaining safe and effective schools.

Social & Emotional Learning

All classes in Fayston Elementary regularly have social-emotional learning lessons to help students learn social-emotional skills such as self-control, buiding relationships, and conflict resolution. Our Social Emotional Iearning program (Second Step program) engages every learner.

  • - In teacher-facilitated group settings, students connect with the content, each other, and the teacher as they build new social-emotional skills.
  • - Variety in media, activities, and interactive components helps engage every learner and provide opportunities for culturally relevant teaching.
  • - The look and feel of each grade's lessons evolve as students grow into new developmental stages.

Bell Schedule

Fayston Elementary students have 6 periods every day, a total of 30 hours of classes a week.

Morning worship begins at 9 o'clock, the first class starts at 9:30, and the last class of the day ends at 4 o'clock.
